A little help
Support
A few answers to help you get back to your photographs.
Which images can I open?
NegRevel accepts camera RAW, JPEG, and supported 8- or 16-bit RGB scanner TIFF files. RAW coverage depends on the camera model, compression mode, and decoder included in the release. A familiar file extension alone does not guarantee support.
Why is my imported photo still a negative?
Import creates a preview. It does not crop or convert automatically. Check the photo in Sources, review the crop, then choose Auto Convert.
Why did an action affect several photos?
Auto Crop, Auto Convert, and Export use checked photos. Clicking a photo focuses its preview; its checkbox controls batch inclusion. Review the checked count before confirming.
Why is Export unavailable?
Check that at least one checked photo has been converted and that processing has finished. Export works on checked, converted photos.
Does changing the crop change my saved conversion?
A saved conversion stays fixed. Crop and view changes do not silently refit it. Run Auto Convert explicitly when you want to fit the updated crop.
What is the difference between Save and Export?
Save keeps editable NegRevel documents: .nre for an individual edit, .nrw for an independent workspace, and .nrr for a roll. Export writes finished JPEG or TIFF photographs. Keep the source images available for saved documents.
What languages are supported?
English and Simplified Chinese. Change the language in Preferences, apply it, and restart when prompted.
Can I open a document from an older development build?
Older document formats may need explicit conversion before opening. Keep a backup and consult the release notes for the version that created the document. Normal opening does not automatically migrate unsupported formats.
